What Is NAD+? Understanding the Supplement Label

NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. It is a coenzyme involved in the body's normal cellular reactions, including energy metabolism. Its role in the body is different from evidence that a particular supplement improves how someone feels.

What can a product label tell you?

Start with the ingredient list and serving size. A product called an NAD+ complex may contain several ingredients; the total blend weight is not automatically the amount of pure NAD+. Claims about absorption, aging or a specific benefit require evidence for the formulation being sold.

VHC LAB NAD+ Complex: current label details

  • Serving size: 3 capsules
  • 90 capsules and 30 servings per bottle
  • 1100mg blend per serving
  • Formula includes β NAD+, CoQ10, trans-resveratrol and magnesium glycinate
  • CoQ10: 50mg per serving
  • Contains gelatin capsules; not a vegan product

The label lists “β NAD+ >50%” alongside 450mg. We do not describe this as 450mg of pure NAD+. Contact us if you need the manufacturer's specification explained before purchasing. D-ribose is not listed on the current Supplement Facts panel.

Questions to ask before choosing a supplement

  1. Is the listed quantity per capsule, per serving or for the entire blend?
  2. What are the other ingredients, including the capsule material?
  3. Does the evidence apply to this exact formula and amount, or to a different ingredient or study?
  4. What directions and warnings appear on the actual bottle?

Frequently asked questions

Does the name NAD+ Complex establish an anti-aging benefit?

No. A product name or an explanation of cellular biology does not demonstrate a clinical benefit for this product. This guide does not promise slower aging, DNA repair, improved memory or weight loss from taking it.

How many capsules make one serving?

The current label lists 3 capsules per serving. Follow your bottle's directions; a serving size is not an individualized recommendation.

Is this the same formula as Benfotiamine?

No. They contain different ingredients. Compare the formulas in Energy & Metabolism without assuming they should be taken together.
